The 12 Days 'Til Spore

Hooray! Yippee! Spore is released in only 12 days! To celebrate, I've made a song, taken from the perspective of a Spore creature.

On the first day of Spore my creator gave to me, life in a tiny tidepool.

On the second day of Spore my creator gave to me, two webbed flippers and life in a tiny tidepool.

On the third day of Spore my creator gave to me, three googly eyes, two webbed flippers, and life in a tiny tidepool.

On the fourth day of Spore my creator gave to me, four long legs, three googly eyes, two webbed flippers, and life in a tiny tidepool.

On the fifth day of Spore my creator gave to me, five fellow creatures, four long legs, three googly eyes, two webbed flippers, and life in a tiny tidepool.

On the sixth day of Spore my creator gave to me, six dead enemies, five fellow creatures, four long legs, three googly eyes, two webbed flippers, and life in a tiny tidepool.

On the seventh day of Spore my creator gave to me, seven primitive huts, six dead enemies, five fellow creatures, four long legs, three googly eyes, two webbed flippers, and life in a tiny tidepool.

On the eighth day of Spore my creator gave to me, eight pointy spears, seven primitive huts, six dead enemies, five fellow creatures, four long legs, three googly eyes, two webbed flippers, and life in a tiny tidepool.

On the ninth day of Spore my creator gave to me, nine high tech cities, eight pointy spears, seven primitive huts, six dead enemies, five fellow creatures, four long legs, three googly eyes, two webbed flippers and life in a tiny tidepool.

On the tenth day of Spore my creator gave to me, ten purple tanks, nine high tech cities, eight pointy spears, seven primitive huts, six dead enemies, five fellow creatures, four long legs, three googly eyes, two webbed flippers, and life in a tiny tidepool.

On the eleventh day of Spore my creator gave to me, eleven weapons for my UFO, ten purple tanks, nine high tech cities, eight pointy spears, seven primitive huts, six dead enemies, five fellow creatures, four long legs, three googly eyes, two webbed flippers, and life in a tiny tidepool.

On the twelfth day of Spore my creator gave to me, twelve planets of penis creatures, eleven weapons for my UFO, ten purple tanks, nine high tech cities, eight pointy spears, seven primitive huts, six dead enemies, five fellow creatures, four long legs, three googly eyes, two webbed flippers, and life in a tiny tidepool!

Pineapple Tyrrany

Okay, onto number 2 of the soap opera cliche examination by me, myself, and I. But first, some random news. C&C Generals 2 was announced a little while ago, as well as the release date for The Sims 3: February '09. Also, Spore is out in two weeks!!! Back to the cliches.

2. Predictable Plotlines:

Another very common cliche in soap operas is the stupidly predictable plot. 18 out of 20 times I can guess what will happen in the next few episodes. Firstly, dead characters often reappear in a terribly put together episode, for example: Character X, who drowned last season, survived! Wow, oh my it's amazing! Can Character Y cope with the return of an old enemy?? There is a simple guide to telling who gets killed. There is a window of screen time. If they have just the right amount of screen time, they die.. Any less, and they kinda fade away into an unimportant character. Any more, and they stay relevant to the plot and live. This also applies to horror movies. Remember: in soaps, there is only one thing greater than death: moving out of the city. That's all for now.

Analytical Engine

Now that's a cool word. For the next few days I will be examining the crappy stereotypes and cliches that exist in soap operas. Why? I'm bored, that's why.

1. No Poor People:
The one element that is consistent in every soap opera is that the characters are made up completely of rich people. There aren't even any middle class people, no workers. What, are they boring or something? Middle and lower class people have stories to tell too, you know! I think there should be a soap opera based around construction workers, or something that evelops that general demographic. Plus, it is completely illogical for everyone in a city to be wealthy. It just doesn't make sense!

Stay tuned for more soap opera bashing action!

I Like Food

My internets was down this morning, so I played some Battlefield: Bad Company, which is a very fun game. I haven't tried online yet, but singleplayer is really enjoyable. I recommend it. In movies, My Name is Bruce, starring Bruce Campbell, is out in theatres this fall. It looks pretty funny from what I've seen. Sadly, Disaster Movie is out later this month. I'm not going to watch that obvious P.O.S. In the next few weeks, my friend and I's webcomic should be up soon. I think. School is coming up (sadly), and for those of you looking for a laptop, BUY A PC!!!! They are better in nearly every way. Mac fans, STFU right now.

Incredibly Un-shocking

Star Wars: The Clone Wars, according to every review I have seen, sucks big time. Even fanboys hate it. That's a sign of dark times ahead for George Lucas... But Tropic Thunder, also out recently, is apparently a great movie, despite the fact that there's a lot of controversy. I might go see it in theatres soon. As for projects I am working on, I'm trying to make an Internet meme! I've thought of a few, including the Rack Roll (A link leading to pictures of boobs), the Dramatic Mongoose (self explanatory), and the Breakdancing Pirate animation. You readers of my blog, if there are any, comment on which meme I should make. "If you build it, they will come." That can apply to internet memes as well.

Insane Irish Omni Squirrels

If there is an award for msot random title, I just won it. In gaming news, Rise of the Argonauts, due out September 30th, looks really fun. Of course, killing giant mythological beats is always fun, right? Well, unless you have to button mash(*cough*GodofWar*cough*). As for movies, there's not much to say. If you haven't seen the Wolverine Origins trailer yet, stop reading and head to Youtube. Watch it! It has Deadpool in it! Hopefully Deadpool gets a movie. In comics, Marvel's Secret Invasion is over. It doesn't look as big as Civil War, what with the death Captain America, and Spider-man's continuity altering mistake. But Deadpool apparently plays a big role in it. That's it for today.

Lotsa Stuff Coming Up!

Yeah... I still haven't seen the Dark Knight yet. I really should. There's been a ton of comic movies out this year: Iron Man, The Hulk, Batman, and so on. I can't wait until September for Spore! And Deadpool of course. I could never forget about Deadpool. I might post a bit of Dead Earth, my first novel. Hooray Banjo-Kazooie! Gears of War AND Banjo in the same month? It can't be! And as a bonus, Punisher 2 is out in theatres December!

Soulcalibur, Bread, and More

I played Soulcalibur 4 recently, and I have to say it's amazing. It has a ton of easily unlockable characters, fun gameplay, and Star Wars. Critical finishes are cool too. It's the perfect fighting game for people who don't have a Wii for Brawl. On a different topic, Electronic Arts sucks. They've destroyed their primary franchise, and haven't made a good game in years. The release date for Command and Conquer Red Alert 3? This October, only a few months after it was announced. They've probably been working on it for a year or less. EA really has to slow down!
