Seriously!

Alright. First up, if you haven't noticed, I've upgraded my blog. I now have a video bar on the right hand side of the screen. Have fun with that. Second, I'm getting Fallout 3 the very day it comes out. Now for the rant-ish thing.

Around the internet, Spore has shocked and awed gamers. Not because of it's amazingness I can tell you. Because of Spore's DRM, gamers are paranoid that their computer is next in line to be wiped by the DRM's "computer destroying ability", something I have not noticed yet. Of course, as soon as you say something here on the internet, it spreads faster than the Spanish flu. Or in this case, threads stating "omgz spore iz gay mah compz gonna die".

Also on the Spore issue, MANY people say Spore didn't live up to the hype. Now, I admit it isn't as epically masterful as Will Wright claimed it to be, but I do say it's amazing. I love the game, and still like playing it. Yes, even after the one month mark, which is the latest I'll have beaten a game. Spore might even survive past the one year mark, a feat only Mass Effect, Banjo Tooie and Company of Heroes have accomplished.

Spore has a lot of haters. More people look at the flaws of the game than the greatness of it. Those kinds of people who think that way should really try to enjoy the game, and in the future, don't believe the hype.

Next up is the sad state of video games in the eyes of the media and parents. Video gaming is not a toy, and is not addictive. Video gaming is as much of entertainment as a movie or a book. And how many people bash books? I think games have just the potential for learning and skill building as books and movies combined. On that note, you have to commend Nintendo for showing video games in a positive light, and aiming towards non-gamers. Good for you, Nintendo.

With great games like Metal Gear Solid coming out, it really shows how games can be used as an effective narrative, effectively bridging the gap between the audience and the entertainment. People like control, and video games like Mass Effect allow the player to essentially create their own story, their own worlds and situations. That's probably why Mass Effect has lasted so long with me.

Hey do any of you love LittleBigPlanet? Then screw you! LBP is a level editor. A slightly complex level editor. As in, it has user created content and lots of useless features. You're probably thinking, "But, Five_X! Imagine what we could make!" Yeah, I know what you could make! A yellow lump that kinda looks like it could be something. An elephant? No, it looks more like a flying crapworm from Zetus-2! That's the imaginative part, thinking of what that junk you spewed out could be! Fun! Just look at Spore. Remember the phallic outbreak of penis monsters? Yeah, that'll populate LBP, just like all the crap that some moron thinks is cool, but is actually that thing I dropped in the crapper. With eyes!

Now for something completely different! Fallout 3 looks amazing. I didn't play the other Fallouts, I hear they are great, and my friend really enjoys them. Kinda the opposite of Spore, Fallout fans think that Bethesda with royally screw the franchise over. Personally, I think that Bethesda is that Bethesda is the absolute perfect company to recreate the Fallout world.

Hey, also, I got the G4 channel a while ago! It's the only thing I watch on TV now. All gaming, all the time. Except for Torrent. I hate that show.

Man I wish I was a game reviwer or something. Or, even better, if my blog actually got enough fans to allow me to visit cons like E3, which apparently is going back to what it was like before it became all crappy and what not. Actually, now that I'm thinking, I don't think anyone reads this blog. Oh well. Someone might read it. And for you, loyal fan, I will continue to update!
